AGap AI – AI-Guided Appointment System (English Instructions)

AGap AI (AI-Guided Appointment System) is an AI-based assistant chatbot developed by the Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS), Saifai. The system is designed to assist patients—especially those from rural and semi-urban areas—in reaching the most appropriate clinical department based on their symptoms.

AGap AI evaluates patient symptoms through simple Yes / No–based questions and provides guidance as follows:

• OPD Guidance: Directs patients to the appropriate OPD department based on their symptoms.
• Emergency & Trauma Identification: In case of red-flag symptoms, patients are immediately guided to the Emergency / Trauma Department.
• Cardiac Emergency (STEMI / Hriday Setu): If a suspected heart attack (STEMI) is identified, the system guides the patient to:
  • Immediately contact the UPUMS Emergency Department, or
  • Reach the concerned Nodal Officer / CMO under the Hriday Setu STEMI Care Network
• Nearest STEMI Care Center Navigation: Based on the district selected by the patient, the system displays the nearest STEMI-enabled PHC/CHC along with route guidance through Google Maps.

Through this mechanism, patients are guided to the nearest and most appropriate emergency treatment center, ensuring protection of the golden hour and avoiding unnecessary delays in treatment.

This system significantly reduces delays, prevents patients from reporting to incorrect OPDs, and supports timely clinical intervention—especially in cardiac emergencies.
