Facilities Available :
1. Central Instrumentation Laboratory:
The central instrumentation laboratory (CIL) aims at the optimized utilization of the instrumentation
facility with quality assurance of analytical and subsequent research outcomes.It has been playing a pivotal
role in supporting the research activities and regular experiments of B. Pharm classes. All students and
faculty members from Pharmacy department of the university are free to avail the services of CIL as per the
guidelines.
The CIL of Faculty of Pharmacy is located on the first floor and equipped with major instruments like FTIR,
Single and double beam UV-VIS spectrophotometers, Photofluorometer, Analytical and preparative HPLC systems,
nepheloturbidity meter, Phase contrast microscope, Microscope, Melting point apparatus and electronic
balances with high sensitivity (i.e. 0.01 and 0.001 gm).
2. Machine room:
The machine room is furnished with tools and equipment for producing the liquid orals, ointments,
injectables, tablets, and capsules. Single punch tablet machine, coating pan, dissolution rate test
apparatus, disintegration rate test apparatus, ampoule filling and sealing apparatus, bottle filling
apparatus, sieve shaker, capsule filling apparatus, mechanical stirrer, double cone blender, tray dryer, and
ointment filling apparatus are available for hands on training of the students. This lab offers a chance to
the young, aspirant pharmacists to familiarize themselves with the manufacturing aspects of various
formulations.
3. Computer Centre:
The Computer Centre caters to the needs of faculty, staff and students for their research and teaching work.
4. Library and Information Centre:
Well-equipped computerized library having adequate books and journals(national & International) are
available
in our college library and further for the higher courses books and journals are in procurement pipeline.
5. Central Animal Facility:
UP Rural Institute Of Medical Science & Research has a central animal facility for research purposes.
Each species
of animals is housed in barrier maintained individual rooms to avoid inter-species cross infection. The
animals are
maintained under controlled environmental conditions (temperature (22± 2ºC), relative humidity (50 ± 5 %),

h light and dark cycle with 100 % of fresh air exchange in animal rooms) with uninterrupted power supply.
The
macro- and micro- environment around the animals are maintained as per the CPCSEA guidelines. Separate
building for holding of infective and non-infective experimental animals is available. A high degree of
hygienic
conditions is being maintained. Regular disinfection of animal rooms and cleaning and sterilization of
cages, water
bottles, bedding etc are practiced. Heavy duty steam sterilizers have been provided for sterilization of all
materials
entering into animals rooms. In addition to the conventionally maintained colonies, CAF do have the animal
isolator and individually ventilated caging systems (IVC) for breeding and maintaining the animal colonies
in SPF
environment.
6. Accommodation:
For Faculties and Staff Members -
Type 3 , 4 & 2 Quarters are available in sufficient numbers respectively within the college premises.
For Students (Boys & Girls ) -
Well-furnished separate hostels are available for boys and girls.
